It seems like I should maybe bump up the difficulty when I get around to playing through ME2. I forget what difficulty I originally played it on when it first came out on 360, but I was absolutely crap at shooters at that time, so I remember the game being more difficult. Nothing gave me any significant trouble, despite the fact that it was only partway through the game I even remembered to bother commanding my teammates' abilities. I played on normal difficulty, but it felt more like easy to me. Frustratingly, the game crashed 3 times during the final fight with Saren. It's still probably my least favorite of the original trilogy, but it has a lot to recommend it, even over the other two games. But as an overall package, it's a wonderful game, and perhaps even something of a triumph given how little time Bioware had to make it. And there are several place in the games, even early, where I don't think the writing makes any sense. I even think there are too many goodbyes, or at least too much time spent on unsatisfying goodbyes. Too grim, too long, too much combat - it's just no fun. Priority: Earth is just awful, even ignoring the various issues with the final sequence. It's much more reactive to your decisions in prior games than ME2 is. There is just a ton of (mostly) amusing and well-written companion dialogue the way the Normandy seems to evolve between each mission as NPCs move around, converse, etc. But the game up to roughly that point is a blast, with a couple hiccups, and delivers a lot of great stuff that you won't find in ME1 or 2. If, like me, you play Citadel and Leviathan in between Priority: Rannoch and Priority: Thessia (in my opinion they simply do not fit the game's plot and tone at any later point), everything after those two DLC feels like a big step down, and I'm reminded of why several of my earlier ME3 playthroughs stalled at that point. I shoot him, he says, 'SO BE IT' and apparently that's a choice?!?!?! so I swear loudly at the stupid fucking game and reload my save yet again to actually pick the ending I want.įinished ME3. I see the stupid kid and think 'ooh I wonder if I can shoot him'. I say what the fuck and close the game and reload. Control panel does not mean a control panel, it means you are choosing the Control ending. So I click X thinking okay it will tell me what control panel it is and confirm this is my choice. I go up to the left panel and the prompt says 'Control panel'. So there's two panels and this beam thing, so I'm like 'cool I'll go up to the left panel and see what that is, then the right panel' etc. And hell, it took me three times to actually pick the ending I wanted due to how obtuse it is. Sad to say that I am with the general consensus on the endings of the trilogy. Came along and absolutely demolished my good will for ME3. I'm in stunned belief about the reception it gets, honestly.

I expected more relaxed, fun content like shooting cans with Garrus on the Citadel, but yeah.
